This is a fun place, with pretty consistent quality and a nice staff. Good stop during events.
Every time that I am in the area I make a point to visit this winery. The wine tasting room provides a unique tasting experience when you go ahead and spring for the reserve tasting. It is well worth it as the "private" reserve tasting room looks out over aging oak casks. This unique setting really adds to the experience as does the attentive staff. However, I should point out that like everywhere you occasionally get a lemon. On our most recent visit...we got a lemon and her name was Cynthia. Maybe she was having a bad day but her attitude and lack of attentiveness was unacceptable. As a result of "Cynthia" we were seconds from getting up and heading to the next winery when our favorite member of the staff named Sandy came in and saved the day. Sandy is exceptionally knowledgeable and really appears to enjoy his job. Sandy was able to really turn the experience around for our group of 6. When we left we had purchased several cases of wine including a case and a half of the GP Tawny Port. This stuff is excellent and worth the trip by itself. Another member of the staff Linda was very helpful and recommended a great sounding recipe using their Tawny Port. In summary, Geyser Peak Winery is great, Sandy is great, Linda is great, but avoid Cynthia if you can.
