The grapes are hand-picked from vineyards spread over 250 acres of land in the Russian River Valley, and time-honored techniques are used to make and preserve the wine. Choose from several varietals on offerthe smooth pinot noirs and the bold chardonnays deserve a special mention. The scenic surroundings add just the right touch to your tasting experience.

    Awesome tasting room, awesome sparkling wines: This is the one place on this list where the tastings aren't free, but it's worth it to spend the token amount for the tasting flight. Each wine is served with a matching hors d'oeuvre and the pouring staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

    J makes possibly the best sparkling wines (i.e. champagnes) in the US, and they also make some awesome pinot noirs. They aren't cheap, but a bottle would make a great souvenir.

    Across the parking lot is Rodney Strong, another pretty tasting room with lots of wine-making displays to look at. The two are somewhat out of the way, but it's worth the trip.
