This is a great place to eat. I am a local and have eaten here several times. To the people who've wrote bad reviews, I'm sorry you received the service and 'bad' food that you did. I completely disagree with you because every time I've been there service was good, and the food was excellent. EVERY time I've went there, the place is packed. Obviously they are doing something right, bad restaurants don't make it in Ukiah. I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

This "Ukiah Resident" suggests himself/herself as a culinary expert on Thai food. What does this person consider "good" Thai food to be? Also, the comment that "bad restaurants don't make it in Ukiah" is a misnomer - There's not much to choose from in Ukiah with respect to quality food. The comment posted on 1-13-08 is far more accurate.

We have eaten at this restaurant for years - up until 2007 the food was always excellent, the prices reasonable and the service great.
Now - quality of the food is poor, the prices high and the service mediocre.
The spicy beef salad had the cheapest cut of beef imaginable.
The pad thai was awash in ketchup.
Their vegetable of choice is to add lots of thin cut carrots to everything.
We gave the Ruen Tong several chances in 2007 - started poorly and never return to the former awesome food of the past.
I once made special trips to Ukiah for the food at the Ruen Tony - now I don't bother.

I've had the pad Thai and it has NEVER had "ketchup" on it. I definitely haven't explored the full variety the menu has to offer, but I have enjoyed various curries, the dancing prawns and my favorite, drunk noodles. I would agree with other folks that the food is a little more pricey than it should be.

Average Thai food at above-average prices. In other words, overpriced. But that's because they are the only Thai place in town. Zero competition for anything out of the ordinary seems to be the norm in Ukiah. I'll save my urges for Thai food when I'm further south.
