User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBambie started with the Caesar salad with fresh anchovies. Big & good. The cheese was not salty, it gave the salad a rich creaminess. My seasonal heirloom tomato gazpacho was simply fabulous. BEST Gazpacho I've had in years. Deep purple color, sweet tomato flavor without acid burn, dribble of good olive oil. This "soup" would be my sole reason to return to La Salette. Entrees: We had the recommended Portuguese specials. Bambie liked the pan fried Halibut filet with fresh corn & Swiss chard. I thought it was too salty. I went for the lamb stew. Served in a casserole dish, swimming in a beef broth reduction. Side of mixed farm fresh vegetables, pan fried, again a little too salty. Wine by the glass. List is mostly Sonoma County. Though I did have a Portuguese red with the lamb. By the glass cost: $6.50 - $10. Dessert: Cheese selection topped with marmalades. Some interesting combinations, but the salty brie with honey & almonds doesn't work. Good meal, not great. $119 bill.
