Feel the need to respond to another comment. The food is great and they have a great selection of saki. Their prices are a little expensive but for something similar in quality, I highly recommend Cafe Hana in Eureka. It is owned by the same person who ran Cafe Tomo so they have been doing it forever and only slightly adjusted the menu by adding a few more things and keeping the prices decent.
AVOID THIS RESAURANT AT ALL COSTS!!! I have eaten there many, many times, and I cannot deny that it is by far the best sushi in town. However, the last THREE TIMES that I have eaten there I have contracted Norovirus, and been sick for 3 to 5 days. It's really simple, they just need to adjust the PH in their rice. I have called the restaurant to complain, as I really do love their food, but was given the brush-off. Additionally, I have had two friends tell me that they have gotten sick there as well. The general apprehension with sushi, for most people, is getting poisoned by raw fish. That is not the case here, as one of my close friends works for the health dept. in Washington and is convinced that the fish is not the issue, or I would be much, much more sick. Each time that I have been poisoned there, everyone else at our table also got sick, so it's not coincidence. At this point, I would suggest that anyone looking for good sushi in Humboldt County should avoid Tomo, and try either Samurai, The Ritz (not as good), or Kyoto (the best of the three, but EXPENSIVE) in Eureka. There is a reason that there used to be three Tomo restaurants, and now there is only one...
yummy food!: The food is great there! Our server, Noah, was very patient with us and he was on top of everything. I plan on going back this week! Thanks for the great time!
