Won't go back: We have been stopping there for 18 years on our way to camp site. Until last time we always enjoyed the food. Bragged about it to our friends. This time the bun was stale, the french fries tasted like they were refried except they were cold, the cheese had white specks on it. In other words the food was inedible!
Great food: Has the largest, most varied menu of any joint this size I've ever been to. I'm a long-time Davisite, both as a student & resident, & have eaten here numerous times. All the food is great - burgers, sandwiches, shakes, smoothies, & more. Recently tried some "dogs" - the humongous chili dog & "killer" dog - and they were fab. It's not fast food/service as we've come to know it in our sped up, impatient culture, but it's worth the wait. The burgers are cooked fresh, i.e., are not pre-formed, frozen patties shipped in on a huge delivery truck like most burger joints. Try it, you'll like it!
Service was horrible and rude!: I stopped by for a burger and fries. Placed my order and waited. After watching several couples come in after I did, place orders and leave I asked about my order. Having known that 2 of those customers had the exact order I did I asked why mine was being pushed back. The cook just stared blankly and someone who I assume was the manager said rather rudely "Well you have to be patient". I haven't been back - don't care how good the food is. Customer service is king and the first impression from this place was they really didn't care.
