    Great restaurant with very well executed food. service is prompt and attentitive. Good wine list but not a lot of French wines.

    A nice country French restaurant: Zacchary Jacque's a is locally well-respected French restaurant with a diverse menu and an excellent wine list. It has an upscale clientele and a wine bar popular among the cognoscenti. I'm local and eat there rarely.
    pros
    Country setting and charming decor make it an interesting place to visit. The service is excellent. The food is usually very good. One of the two best upper-end choices in our area.
    cons
    For Placerville, it's an expensive place to eat and the food can be disappointing. On our last visit, the chicken I ordered was cardboard dry. Dinner for two plus a lower end bottle of wine and tip (no dessert) ran $130. I'm not in hurry to go back, but in fairness I should say that many people we know really like the place and you can get a less-expensive meal in the wine bar.
