Pleasant Grove Self Storage

Hi All- Just a heads up regarding our experience with storing here. Rented a nice-sized unit for a reasonable rate, moved our things in meaning to stay for a few weeks while our new home closed escrow. They give renters the use of a moving truck with some restrictions (call way in advance if you want to move out by a certain date) and $100 deposit. Seems like a nice and clean, well run secure facility. We have lots of things and most of all a new bed and sectional that we didn't want messed up. Everything else, no big deal. Well, we moved in on a Friday and by Monday were moving things to our new home. Imagine our shock when we discovered MOUSE DROPPINGS all over the furniture and boxes. Person on duty said that they have pest control but since they're located by a field they cannot help what comes in. Manager said that sometimes when you store food and cleaning items that rodents are attracted. When we said that there were none of these, she said that maybe the adjoining units did. That was the extent of their dealing with this. She came to the unit as we were moving things out and actually saw droppings covering the top of our young daughter's dresser and admitted that we were infested. This after being there not even three weeks. We couldn't get out any earlier because their truck was reserved already. Her final solution was that we have our items steam cleaned. At our expense of course. We figured we were lucky to have only needed to stay there less than one month was a good thing, but now that we're in our NEW house, believe me, we're keeping our ears open for critters! We actually saw a mouse leaving the unit as we moved things around! Although the manager was pleasant, we felt she should have given us at least $50 to clean our things which are still in the garage with the hope that whatever moved in will move out! Our high-priced and almost new sectional had stuffing pulled out and mouse crap all over the back edge!!! Instead, she claimed that had she known immediately of the mice, she would have called her pest person (who obviously wasn't effective in the first place) to do we don't know what, spray our items with Raid? Her other suggestion was that next time we secure insurance to cover our things. Bummer! Oh, and the other thing was that when we first mentioned this to the gal in the office, she started immediately countering what we were saying with the "we live next to a field and with the weather change..." and the "do you have insurance?" lines, so we're sure that this has been a problem with other customers even though she said that it was not. If you don't want mice, stay away from this facility!

i have rented a lot of storage units in my almost 40 years of life and I always look for the best and I will tell you if you want the best you have found it!!
