User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've traveled many times over the years to see the Pat Travers Band. We've always had a great time there. Never met any of the "rude staff" mentioned in another review. I don't just drive down the street to get there. I fly in from Florida and stay nearby. I'm hopefully looking forward to some more trip to Cali to see the Pat Travers Band. PT lives about three hours away from where I'm at, but I'll still travel to Cali to see PT at The Boardwalk, and many other venues in Cali. Maybe they were having a bad day with staffing issues.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsNot impressed: I have to say I am not impressed with the boardwalk anymore. It used to be a nice, friendly place to rock out... We just went the other night and I was totally unimpressed by everything from the staff to the "view"... we were not informed that the show we paid to see had THREE opening bands instead of ONE (as listed). The show we paid for didn't even start until 11pm... we arrived at 7:30 and then were STUCK inside for over 2 hrs because they were over capacity and didn't have enough staff to cover the door... They actually would not let anyone out until the entire line from outside made it in... ridiculous... Then, my brother (who is 32 but looks a bit older) had a giant "20" written on his hand due to an expired license... wasn't even allowed in the drinking area (another ridiculous aspect of this place)... The security guards were more concerned with watching the show (thus blocking other peoples' views) than doing any security types of things... they only had TWO bartenders working.. one for beer and one for mixed drinks... when you're over capacity, have rude staff members to deal with, can't get outside for a smoke, etc the last thing you want to deal with is standing in line for 30 mins to get one beer... I actually saw people ordering two drinks at a time for themselves because it would take that much time to get back to the bar to order two more.... this place was AWFUL!!! It's a shame really because it used to be a rockin' place...
Oh... and did I mention that it's now an all-ages "bar"?!?!? interesting huh? We won't be going back anytime soon...
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAlways something to Rock!!!: This is a great lil club to see up and coming rock and metal bands. They even bring back blasts from the past on occasion. We always have a great time when wo go here. Service is great. Bar tenders make great drinks. People are friendly and everyone has an awesome time. Cant wait till we go party with them once more!
