The dealer is just like any dealer.. don't let the small town hokey cloud your judgment.
If given the chance, just as with any car dealer, they will charge you TOP DOLLAR, that's what selling cars is all about. If it weren't they'd all have a no dick sticker price, like buying anything else in life is. I just don't get why we have to be subjected to such a cat and mouse game over something so major in life.
THAT SAID,... here are my thoughts about this dealership.
If given the chance, they will make sure they make as much on the deal, including selling you as many add-on insurances as any car dealer. It's just a fact.
DON'T LET THE "WE WON'T MALL YOU' sign cloud your judgment. YOU NEED TO BEWARE or at least as prepared as you would be dealing with any car dealer anywhere.
I speak from experience, I went there without my guard up and came out paying too much, bad loan etc. A very expensive and hard lesson learned. It's unfortunate that some lessons in life can have a high price tag. This was one. I can't completely blame the dealer but I won't ever be lulled into thinking that dealing locally warrants any different approach other than going in FULLY PREPARED TO PLAY HARDBALL and armed with competitive pricing, etc etc etc.
I found this online (Pasting it below)
Interest-Rate Bumping
You should always shop for your own financing before you head to the dealer. Maybe youâll get a better rate; maybe youâll just get a better idea of what rate you qualify for so you can police the finance manager. It is not uncommon for the dealer to secure financing for you at one APR but offer you a rate one percentage point higherâand then pocket the difference.
JUST ANOTHER THING TO WATCH OUT FOR. I'm NOT saying they did that at Winner's but I am feeling that something very fishy went on and of course they say "Oh I'm sorry your credit is so bad.. spinning it back onto you.
Is Winner's all bad, NO, did I make mistakes YES! Learned a very expensive mistake from which I'm turned off of ever dealing there again.
That doesn't mean I won't use them to try out cars vrs driving down the hill etc etc.. I just won't buy there :-)
