Heard a lot about the Purp Place and gave it a try. appetizer menu and restaurant menu are totally separated items therefore was told that we need to move to the bar area just to get an order of buffalo wings. turns out that the wings was not good-just spicy. salmon was also not fresh. loud, poor quality CD sound was also playing in the background. the quality of food is not in par with it's price and atmosphere.
back to BJ's and Chili's............
As die hard Harley Riders, my husband and I weren't particularly fond of the remodeling of the "Purp" as it was too noisy for us older folks to hear anyone speaking. But, you've got to hand it to owner Mike, he knows how to run a business. The "Purp" now caters not only to the bikers, but to everyone in the community serving really good food and great music. He is also an extremely generous business owner donating items to Community Fundraisers i.e. Fallen Warriors Memorial Poker Run August 23, 2009, a run honoring local military heroes who gave their lives in Iraq and Afganistan. We love the patio on the weekends and stop as often as we can aka "a lot." Great food, great place to bring friends, great fun. James and Doris Blatchford
I have lived in El Dorado Hills and the Folsom area for years. The Purple Place has always been an icon as a casual neighborhood bar. I hadn't been there for a while, but went for a mixed drink tonight and to catch an NBA playoff game.
I was shocked at the price of a small mixed drink. Six dollars for a screwdriver with well vodka. At almost any other bar in Folsom or EDH you wouldn't spend more than $4- for such a drink.
It was disappointing as it never feels good to be taken advantage of. I work for a large company in EDH and we often do happy hours. Until the Purple Place adjusts their prices to be more in line for what you would expect for a casual neighborhood bar, I won't be going there again, and won't recommend it to any of my co-workers or friends.
