| About: | This eatery caters to the purist who prefers the tradition and quality of a small sushi bar rather than the showy sushi spots springing up in the suburbs. While the rolls have names like "Rock & Roll" and "Caterpillar", the makings are traditional all the way. Fresh water eel, masago, black caviar, shrimp and tuna are combined in the traditional manner by experienced chefs. The shrimp tempura is fresh and crispy. Its menu also features several non-sushi dishes. |

best sushi i have ever had, plus the vibe is rad. bumpin reggae, great selection of sake, AMAZING fish, very traditional rolls, and some super creative rolls, all of which focus on the fish (and not sauce like some mikunis, i mean others, do). they are now ZEN SUSHI located right behind memorial auditorium,
fish is still amazing, prices are decent (tho not as cheap as they used to be). but the sound system sucks and they never play reggae anymore. BRING BACK THE KICK ASS SOUND SYSTEM LOU!!!! WE WANT REGGAE WITH OUR SUSHI BRO!
I'll be back...: ...and I'm no Terminator! The Lou's Roll is especially tasty! Eating at the bar allows good conversation with the chefs and the patrons. The corner storefront location lends a very homey environment for those of us used to cities. The area, which includes the faux-urban R Street Market, shows real promise.
Great sushi: The sushi at Taka is delicious. One of the best in Sacramento. The rpice range is perfect for most budgets. The service is excellent. The best option is sitting at the sushi bar and asking for the chef to create a roll for you. Every time it is something different and unique creation.
