We visited Jamies for a birthday celebration and had guests from SoCal who were excited to visit there after hearing about it on Guy's program. We arrived and were seated quite promptly. Unfortunately, our experience deteriorated from there. The server was quite miffed when she tried to deliver a soda that we had not ordered. She reluctantly took the drink back and corrected our order. When it was time for the order, we had questions since it was our first experience there. We were told that the specials had been listed on the board and we should have looked there! Since we hadn'tstudied them upon our arrival, she disgustedly recited them and took our order. Our food was cooked perfectly and was delicious and was enjoyed by everyone in the group. We had made it our mission to make the server smile and tried to change her poor attitude, but I have to admit defeat. The final straw was when our check was delivered and there was an extra item on it that had not been ordered. The error was pointed out and the server's reply was, "Do you want me to redo the whole bill?" Our answer after a night of her poor attitude was an overwhelmingly "YES!"
We found out the owner was out-of-town. Perhaps our server had had a really bad day and had circumstances that had caused her to react in such a negative fashion. I wish the future customers better luck.
Although she could have ruined our evening, we refused to let her. We have decided to give this restaurant another try, but will search out a different server! The food is worth the drive! I am hoping our experience is not the norm and feel this restaurant deserves a second chance.
I was so disappointed with Jamie's Bar and Grill. I had seen it on DDD (Food Network) and was optimistic that it would be a great place. However, the service we received was horrid. It was not busy (we were the only customers waiting) and the host just stared at us for about 10 minutes before I had to ask to be seated. The service we received was not prompt or courteous. We had to ask twice for water, and she never asked us if we wanted a refill of soda or another beer. Additionally, she refused to let us split the bill or split a meal (even though she allowed the next table to split a meal). At this point, I was upset about the service, but desperately wanted to try the garlic steak sandwich. It was good, but certainly not spectacular. You could hardly taste the garlic and my friendâs meat was half covered in fat. Overall, I was very disappointed. The food is its only redeeming feature.
From the outside you would never know that this is THE best food in Sacramento. It was featured on Food Network's Diners Dives and Drive In's with Guy Fietti. I always get thier garlic steak sandwhich. It is not upscale at all on the inside or outside but the food makes up for it. This place is awesome !!!
