I ate there today for the very first time. Great food... and may sound silly but one of the things I always judge a mexican restuarant on is... Their rice and beans. Most restaurant get so sloppy with these sides but it was as close to homemade as I can remember. The chicken enchiladas were awesome.
Everyone has their own taste... I used to like Plaza Del Sol in Elk Grove but it has been that great lately... definetely my new place to go!
This place is always a treat!
I discovered this restaurant probably about 4 years ago when going up to Sacramento for a date. That's when I fell in love...with the restaurant! Who knows where the date is these days, but I still make special trips up to this restaurant for the best mexican food money can buy.
The staff is incredible. About half of the staff is committed to refilling your water and chips/salsa while your actual waiter concentrates on your entrees and any additional beverages you decide to order. Very efficient as any time my water glass was halfway down a person comes right up and fills it for me.
The food....WOW! The flour tortillas taste homemade and are some of the best I've ever had. My g/f says they're "too doughy", but I happen to like them like that over the thin store-bought junk.
Typically when I go up there, I order at least one thing with CARNITAS. Their carnitas are to die for, and I would recommend a carnitas quesadilla if you're ordering a combination plate. It is delicious and quite filling!
I've never had a bad meal at this place and always look forward to going up there for my birthday and other special occasions. I live about 60 miles away, but always make a trip up there as it's worth the drive.
Wow! What a great choice this was. We showed some friends of ours from TN a great sample of REAL mexican dishes and this was great. Great staff, great portions, great atmosphere.
