I was treated very well when I bought my junior and my senior prom dresses at Corwin's. I was also a lot younger and never knew how to appreciate quality customer service.

THIS IS THE BEST STORE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!

Shopping for bridal was a totally new experience and I want to share what happened with any bride that will listen. Trying to find the perfect dress was a big hassle.

I went to Bella Donna, House of Fashion and David's Bridal in Sacramento and Suzanne's, J and S and Corwin's in Chico. I must have tried on at least 40 wedding gowns. I just went crazy because I wanted my dress to be even better than I have wanted it to be since I was a little girl.

I had found the dress I thought might be "PERFECT!" at House of Fashion, but decided I still needed to check Chico. I always forget about downtown, probably because I am lazy and hate to look for parking. Not only did I find a spot at the door, which must be Karma, but I found the same dress I had seen in Sacramento, for $320 LESS. By the way, House of Fashion hides the label that tells you who makes the dress so you can't compare prices. Corwin's Bridal was not only less money, but there were no hidden labels and they also let us take all the pictures we wanted. They price match, but I found that they were also less than House of Brides in one dress I liked and less than Suzanne's for bridesmaids.

This store has been around for around 50 years and the people who work there are really caring and very warm. Try to have Korey help you, she has been there a long time and is very good. I was just there today because I needed to get some earirngs and she remembered my name and it has been over a year since I've gotten married! (Maybe it is because I tried on half the store! ( LOLl!!!)

Skip David's Bridal $99 gown sale. I heard it is a ruse to get you in the store and I went and wasted time. They hardly have any $99 gowns and what they have you probably don't want AND if you did, plan on $300 for alterations.

I recently bought my wedding dress from Corwin's and I have to agree with the other comments. The owner, Dora, is a wonderful woman to deal with. She helped me choose a gorgeous dress that was very flattering and within my budget. I did go to Davids Bridal first, like the other woman, and I left knowing I would not buy my dress there. The dresses were all so similar, I felt like they were kind of generic looking. Nothing I saw there remotely looked like "the dress" I wanted to wear for my wedding. I thought I was going to have to go to SF or Sac to get a great dress, not so, all I had to do was go downtown. Which brings me to another thing I'd like to point out. Corwin's has little or no advertising that I've noticed and that's why I'm posting this review. I had no idea that it was there and has been for years. I would hate for someone to miss out on this little gem of a shop. So before you drive all the way to the city give Corwin's Bridal a try and I believe you 'll be very glad you did. Excellent service, great price and gorgeous formal wear. You can't go wrong.

I remember going to Corwins with my parents when I was in junior high! I can't believe that I ended up getting my wedding gown there! Got what had to be the most amazing prom dress ever worn to the P.V. senior prom 5 years ago (based on the compliments, not just my vanity). (I think Corwins has been around since 500 B.C.!)

I got married last month, but want you to know that I got a stunning bridal gown in town. I know, I know, always buy local; I just didn't think I would really find a bridal gown in good 0l' Chico that would be as sophisticated as what I thought I would find in the Bay area. After trying on AT LEAST 30-40 gowns between S.F. and Sac., I walked by Corwin's during Farmer's Market and saw some beautiful gowns in their window.

Yes, I bought one. It was just hard to decide which one. (Tip: try on the Allure wedding gowns, they had a corset and gave me a really good fit and curves that I really never had). Really gorgeous, and really reasonable. I went to David's Bridal with a friend today because she thought it would be good. Let me not be unkind. We went from there to Corwin's and she also loves this store. Nothing compares to their service and beauty of gowns. I agree with the previous reviewer on the service. It was amazing. Although when I went there in early 2008 it was on a Monday or Tuesday morning and it was really quiet.
I had the help of the owner who was really honest. She told me that the first dress I had on was not the most flattering on my figure. I thought it was refreshing not to have someone b.s. me and say every dress is "gorgeous." She pulled out MY dress; one I would not have picked on my own. It was $799, and she knew my budget was $1,200! I didn't want any dress that was too beaded or strapless, but THE ONE was filled with really delicate crystals that were very tastefully placed. Even the buttons in the back alternated between 2 buttons, 1 crystal, etc. etc. Stunning!. By the way, their alteration department is the best and Janice who did my bustle and hem was really nice and less than what friends have paid for similar alterations. My tips: 1. Never write a review when you can't sleep; it get to be a bit long. Sorry. 2. Don't go sampling to a caterer or baker when you are hungry. It will all taste good
