I have been honing my musical skills for some time (since about 1967) and working professionally since 1975. Shane has become a great friend: as much as a respected tube amplification craftsman which I have come to know. His humility speaks volumes of his capability. The outcome of his works speaks even greater. I have had the opportunity to give him 4 amplifiers to repair. Two are in the mesa "hall of shame" which are 1) a 1970's Mitchell Pro 100 which he made sound better than I have ever heard it in the past 31 years I've owned it and 2) an Acoustic 165 Tube Amp I have had for about 9 years which he not only repaired - he taught me much about how to use it to its fullest capacity. Another is a very early "no mark" Mesa Mark III which I bought back in August (2009) and have since made it my main stage amp. It went from O.K. to "my God" tonality and output. No popping or slow shifts from channel to channel switching. In fact I do not have a problem with balancing my volumes from rhythm one to rhythm two to lead as I have heard other players talk about. The most recent challenge I have given him is a Mesa 50 Caliber (not a plus) which he has been relentless about removing every last bit of hum which some of the folk at Mesa remember happening. I can't wait to give him another review on that one. All I can say for now is, I do not know why anyone would take their tube amps anywhere else since honest, reliable, dedicated, and humble are qualities I know I want in every service company I work with regardless of whether its music, motorcycles, or whatever.
In short there is nothing else to be said about Shane and Tube Sonic. I had spoke with Shane about doing some re-tubing on my amp heads and Shane was willing to work with me to achieve the tone that i was looking for. With his expertise and vast knowledge of tubes and how they respond we were able to achieve the tone very quickly. I am a Tube Sonic customer for life! All around great guy and the shop has a great vibe to it...
I can't say anything others haven't already said about Shane. In short - honest, reliable, kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about his work. So impressed, I plan on buying one of his own amps.

Update. Well, my .50 Caliber (the one with the 4 EL84 tubes) is just plain "WOW"! It is starting to rival the Mark III - seriously. It does not have any hum; at all!! Looks like I will have to find a IIc+ for him to do his magic to for me. - MacGyver
