Truly rude service dept. woman. Tried to use intimidation tactics to retain business. Never do business here, unless you're into that sort of thing you very bad boy.
I received a notice to have a warranteed part replaced on my Camry at no cost to me(I bought the car from a dealer in another city) I called Patterson to set up an appointment. I was not given directions as to where the service department was located. After I figured it out, I parked my car in line and was approached by an older man with pursed lips (like he was whistling, but there was no sound) who had his hand out. I ignored him and attempted to walk around him, but he stepped in front of me, wiggling his fingers, but still made no sound. I asked if I could help him, and he said, "Give me your keys." I walked past him and finally located the service desk. After the clerk checked me in, he said they would call me when my car was ready, and asked if I needed a ride to work. I said yes, thank you. I was directed to give my keys to the silent, now sullen, whistler, and directed to a waiting room with at least 10 other people in there. There was no place to sit. After standing for an hour, I called a cab on my cell phone. Patterson did not call me until 4:30 pm the next day. After I took another cab there to pick up my car, they said it wasn't ready, and pointed to the lift it was on. I asked to speak to the owner and/or general manager. I was told they had gone home for the day. I left a message for the owner to call me, and took yet another cab back home, because the transit driver had left for the day also. When the owner called me the next day, I told her my situation, and asked to be reimbursed for the cab fares I had paid and had yet to pay. She said I could take it off the service charge. When I told her there was no charge to me, she accused me of wanting something for nothing. I told her I was coming right down, and that my car had better be ready. She said she would check to see if it was ready, and after putting me on hold, told me it was. I paid for another cab to pick it up.
The sad part of this story? My father worked for the Federal government, and had a maintenance contract with Chuck Patterson for his government issue AMC Matador. Mr Patterson was a truly nice man, a civic leader, and would be greatly angered if he heard of the poor customer service the dealership he built is offering today.
Well as you can see from the other reviewers, stay away from this place. Rude, rip-off artists will steal your money faster than a hobo eats a hotdog. Why they are still in business is a mystery. Toyota is one of the most trusted brands in America and I can assure you that Chuck Patterson's cannot be trusted to do anything right! If you need a part replaced, plan on spending AT LEAST 3-4 times what the part would cost you to buy at the part store. It is not bad enough that they rip you off for the hourly rate, they want huge mark-ups on products they don't even sell. Hilarious. Stay away!
