Well this is a wonderful place to eat when going up to the Alps for music at Mamma Llamas and staying at the Red Hill cabins across the street. There was a gratis Taco Bar for appetizers and we loved the Mahi Mahi tacos and clam chowder for dinner. The faceless Granted (below) may consider their party to be spoiled by SF cuisine but I owned a 4-star fresh food catering business for 20 years in Portola Valley and, frankly, some people cannot be pleased and love to complain. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and found much to praise and nothing to whine about.
The La Grange Cafe is a perfectly charming place to eat. My husband and I look forward to an exhilarating motorcycle ride over Buckhorn Summit from Redding once a week (weather providing) to eat dinner at the Cafe. The service at La Grange is excellent. Employees are friendly and professional. What we love best about the service is that we never feel rushed, yet our needs are always met in a timely manner. The food is fabulous and reasonably priced. The market fresh vegetables and seasonal salads are fantastic. We have tried many of the specials and have never been dissapointed, and the sweet potato fries are to die for!
Nicely appointed place with great service and a nice looking menu. We found the food to be just awful. Being from one of the foody capitals of the world, San Francisco, we might be a little spoiled but this place could have done much better.
