There is a reason why it is still open. I have never been anywhere that has steaks, prawns, brochette of beef, etc like 'em. I hate chain restaurants and over priced blah meals. With Jack's you get your money's worth and great service. I've never been disappointed.
This is more of a steakhouse than a bar.
Great steaks, itty bitty small throw back bar. The place is not much larger than a medium sized living room. Expect to stand for a while until your table is ready.
Stout drinks, stout price.
Unless you're going there to say you've eaten a steak at Jack's, skip it.
I agree with the others. For the steak lover it's the best. No chain restaurant can beat it. Hubby needs a "Jacks steak" every couple of months. Since I'm not a steak eater, I order the deep fried prawns which are huge and simply prepared in a basic flour based batter sauce. It's exactly what I'd expect from "this" steak house. If you've been there you understand! The horseradish/secret sauce make the meal. I LOVE the old tupperware salad bowls, the rarely changing wait staff and of course the atmosphere that has never changed with time- other than us non smokers can breath since the smoking ban a few years ago.
