I Love this restaurant! They are on the higher priced side, but it is a good atmosphere. I especially love the bread & dip along with their spinach salads!

We can't agree with the other reviews. We have gone several times on different nights and the service and food have been bad. Every time we have taken anyone for a special occassion it was embarassing. Everyone we talk to says the same thing. We don't know how they stay open. Another restaurant, Paradiso, owned by the same person, was much better. We are sorry it closed. They even had cooking classes that were a lot of fun and great food. We don't plan on going tto the Refuge again.

Finding restaurants in this area which are decent but NOT asian or fast food is a challenge. The food here was very good and out of the ordinary (vanilla brandy sauce on pepper coated filet mignon) and it was all exquisitely prepared. THe prices were a little high, except for the dessert menu which were very reasonable since they serve two (or more!) Service was prompt and unobtrusive (a big plus when trying to have a nice intimate dinner with a loved one)but the decor baffled me. Diner partitions, tuscany plaster on the walls and semi asian banners coupled with kitchen dining room set seating... weird; nice glass wear and cheap flatware... But the food was excellent and isn't that why one goes OUT to eat?
