User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI was very unhappy with a cake purchased at Beyond the Icing December 2008. I had checked in many times in the fall with the decorator Kristin, and she had been very helpful and nice. She even showed me examples of her work on her cell phone of a "body" cake like the one I was ordering. I paid three monthsd in advance, and assumed everything would be fine. When I picked up the cake, it was nothing like the work I had been shown. When I explained that I had seen Kristin's work, and thought that was what I was paying nearly $100.00 for, the counter person literaly shrugged and flippantly said: Well, she doesn't work here anymore." What poor customer service, and what a rip off! It seems everytime I go in there, there is a new decorator. That spelss bad management to me. Stay clear of this place!

The deserts are good but overpriced. They have mini cupcakes that are about the size of half a shot glass that are priced at $1.50. Hmm, one bite for over a dollar? I'll pass.

As the cake artist at Beyond The icing I would like to apologize for the poor customer service with which you were. given. We have since been working hard to improve that, and have been getting excellent results. The cake in question here was exactly on par with what was charged, as per my records and pictures, therefore I regret not being able to consult with you regarding the cake personally. It also seems that another review of yours for Sunset Market paid similar attention to the former cake artist Kristin, resulting in a bad review of the business. I therefore urge you to please not give negative reviews for an entire company solely on the fact that your cake decorator friend is no longer employed by them.
