Koa is by far my favorite breakfast spot. It's full of everything that makes Hawaii special: friendly service, good prices, excellent local faire. Mind you, I've only been to the Kaneohe location but the Aiea location seems similar. It is always packed but they turn over tables pretty quickly. Packing in everyone seems to create a more friendly environment with the patrons. I've been here several times and had all similar experiences.
Love the variety of local kine grinds! Every local breakfast item you can think of plus more! Too bad their space is limited. I think it deters from them going the whole mile when preparing the food and delays in their delivery to the sit down customers. They do their best in the cramped kitchen space and dining area they have, but the high demand takes it's toll. Although, you can barely tell with the positive attitudes almost all the employees convey. I am sure in time it will rub off on the new hires with the young non-schalaunt attitudes. Luckily, they are not open past 2:30p.m.! Their prices are almost reasonable, but at least there are no dishes to wash when you're done eating! The parking can be a hassle at times, but that is something they have no control over, so it's not their fault. All in all, it's another good local business I don't mind helping support with my hard earned dollars.
Okay food: The place was packed, the food was okay and the service was awful. Took almost 1/2 to get our food. People orders after ours was being served before us and we didn't order anything but eggs and sausage.
