I have never in my life been so humilated and treated rudely by a store employee like I was on 1/13/10 at 6:00 p.m. in Rite Aid on Donner Pass Road. I was shopping with my 8 year old son and looking for a check stand that was open.
One stand was open and 3 Clerks (including the Asst. Store Manager were standing around talking) I approached the store manager and asked him if anybody was working in the photo dept. He said yes - Joan is open. Joan left the place she was standing around talking and went to the photo dept to help me. She did not say hello, may I help you, smile, etc.
Nothing...she picked up my 1st item held it way up in the air and continously kept staring at it. I asked her if there was a problem? She ignored me and kept looking at it. I said what?
What? What is the problem? She finally said I am looking for the price. I asked her why are you ignoring me completely?
She picked up the items (nothing scanned) and took them to the Asst Manager and said - you ring her up and walked off. My 8 year old soon was very upset. I told him what happened and he just looked at me and started ringing me up. Not one word. I said forget, I don't need this type of service and will go somewhere else. My son started crying and the Asst. Manager finally said I will talk to the Clerk. I asked him why he didn't say anything..he just looked at me as well. I told him the only reason I was shopping there was because my son was crying and the item I was purchasing was for him.
NO Sorry, No Thank you, No nothing..just took my money and walked off. It is very sad that we have teenagers, college students, single moms, and many other people out of work who would love to have a job and Rite Aid hires people who are down right rude and could careless if they have a job or not and treat customers like they are a piece or crap. People wonder why we don't want to shop local!
