As a Haole (white person), this place scared and confused me for the first year and a half that we lived less than a mile from it. Then one day we got the guts to try it and I fell in love. Saimin is the giant bowls of noodle soup that you see locals eating, and it usually looks like all kinds of strange stuff mixed in. The strange looking stuff is totally normal and tastes great.
Their country fried noodles are very similar, but without the broth and more greasy.
I have trouble deciding between the two.
The Linda Lingle combo is a very good training treat, if you are looking to try something new but not get scared.
My toddlers love the noodles either way.
The pancakes are so-so, and the French Toast is really good.
Kid friendly. friendly service, happy to explain things if you need help with the menu.
