About:Hanapepe Cafe has a new look with a new menu, and some great live music to go with it. The place is usually full during lunch, and hot favorites are garden burgers that you can have with sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, pesto, fresh-grated Parmesan, and other ingredients. The fresh rosemary home fries, grilled vegetable sandwich, whole roasted garlic heads, eggplant parmesan, grilled vegetable charlotte, or four cheese lasagna are delectable too. On a Friday-night, the dinner menu has Italian specialties like southwestern-style lasagna with green chilies, polenta, and sun-dried tomatoes, lasagna quattro formaggio with spinach, mushrooms, and four cheeses, crepes and the famous marinara sauce!

    Stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere was quite pleasant. The setting is an old, converted drug store and the lunch counter is still tucked away in the back. Coffeehouse in the morning. Serves lunch and dinner. Live entertainment on a small stage (not for our lunch).

    The lunch fare is mostly vegetarian with the occasional seafood dish. I had the bouillebaisse which was quite nice (although a little spicier than I normally like).

    Excellent, very friendly and attentative service. Very nice.

    A Non-Vegetarian Rating: I love the location and am learning to like the food here. This was my first time at a vegetarian cafe and it was pretty good! I ordered the spinach and cheese stuffed shells and couldn't taste the spinach at all! (A definite bonus in my book.) The live music is a nice touch. I went with a group of about 10 other women and they all loved the experience. I will absolutely go back!
