| About: | Skiing Magazine called this resort "A mountain with a distinctly split personality: a mild side and a wild side." On the wild side, 75 percent of the runs are for expert skiers. Natural hazards and an elevation of 8,637 feet gives extreme skiers enough challenges to keep them busy all day. On the mild side, students with mental and physical disabilities can enjoy the challenge of skiing at the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School. Adaptive equipment rental is also available. The school operates November through April most seasons depending on snow. |

Best deal in Tahoe: Alpine Meadows has really grown on me the past couple of years. The price is right at $39, and as I've gotten better, I've found more and more advanced terrain to put a smile on my face. There's everything from groomers to bomb (Wolverine Bowl), great tree riding (Promised Land), and a liberal out of bounds policy (there can be great stuff for hikers off of the low traverse).
Awesome ski resort!!!: A wonderful ski resort with terrain for all. There is plenty of groomed runs off the top for intermediates and logs of advanced skiing off the top or on the back side. The staff is very friendly. Most importantly, the snow is awesome.
