I found this halau over 7 years ago in a small print newspaper ad in the free paper. Kumu Karen has since welcomed me every week with beautiful choreography and music. I especially enjoy the different types of Polynesian dance - Tahitian, Traditional and Modern Hula, and Maori. The monthly membership fee has stayed the same for the last 7 years! And now Kumu Karen also teaches ukulele. Dancing with this halau has been the best investment I have made of myself. The ladies are friendly and supportive. It's always nice to see new and fresh faces in the group, so some join us!

This dance studio is an excellent neighborhood polynesian dance halau. Not too much time or money spent on competing or performing, most spent on learning authentic hula, Tahitian and Maori dance. The kumu hula is inspired and patient with beginners. She tries very hard to keep fees and other expenses low so everyone can participate. You will love learning hula implements and the language and culture associated with the dance. This is a fun activity!
