The must try at Haleiwa Joe's is the luau lumpia (Kahlua pig, pineapple, sweet Thai sauce), black & blue ahi (seared Ahi with wasabi-ranch sauce) and the paradise pupu platter (sushi, ceviche, luau lumpia and sticky ribs). It's not just the names that are a mouthful!

Family was visiting from the mainland and we decided to have dinner at Haleiwa Joes in Haleiwa.
My family and I have been eating at the Kaneoehe and Haleiwa restaurants for years.
I was pumped up as they have the best prime on the Island, I raved to everyone at work, ate a very light lunch preparing for the behemoth prime rib.
We arrived at the restaurant about 5:30. I like the atmosphere, staff is friendly and drinks are good.
I placed my order and THEY RAN OUT OF PRIME RIB. - Arggggh
This is not the 1st time this has happened to me this is like the 6th time.
I know you have to go there early but how early is early? I could see if the joint was packed or if I showed up late in the evening but to run out
this early is unacceptable and getting old.
You would think someone in management would say
"Hey, 20 people asked for prime rib tonight and we ran out"
Maybe, just maybe we should cook a little more to make them happy.
Customers are sad and mad when we run out of our signature dish.
This was just as bad as the time Sam Choy restaurant ran out of Aujus for their prime rib! Heck, they could have bought some from K-mart across the street.
I will not be going back to my former favorite restaurant anymore.
Going to Outback Steak House where they never run out of prime rib.
We live in FL we were in Hawaii for a vacation and deside to go to the north shore we found this resturant on the internet. The food was excellent My wife and daughter had the fish sandwhich was Tuna and had a salad with a miso and seaseme dressing and I had the hamburger which was excellent as well. Warning don't drink the budwiser it tasted like it was flat. I would recomend it to anyone who likes seafood.
For a place claiming to be a "Seafood Grill", they had not only a horrible selection, but were way too pricey. We waited for our waiter just to take our drink order, which took forever, and he didn't even bring them out. (they were cokes, it wasn't that hard, yet they put a cherry in it. it wasn't a cherry coke!) After that, we waited about another 10 minutes and he still never showed up!
