I visited this Resort in October of 2007.
It was great. From the moment we arrived the staff was so friendly accomodating. We stayed in one of the suites on the top story, the views were amazing.
We will definetly stay here the next time we return to Maui.
Thank You to all at the Royal Lahaina!!!!!

SKIP IT when it comes to Mountainview category!!!: Skip it when it comes to Mountainview. The rooms were disgustingly dirty & smelly! Oceanfront: a little bit above average in cleanliness, decent island style type furnishings. Bonus is the close proximity to a beach, although I heard there may be jellyfish on that side. I think our "dates" of staying at this hotel is what made the big difference. In '97, the staff was veeery friendly w/ lots of aloha & in 2003, things were downright ugly (due to labor disputes(?). I think bad hotel mgmt. really botched things up here. Skip it for now until you hear good things again. BTW, we were supposed to stay 3 nights at this hotel on our last visit, but things were so bad, we checked-out immediately after the first night.
