This is a must-stop restaurant that sits near the Southern tip of the Big Island. We found it while touring the island during our Christmas vacation on our way from Hilo to Kona on the southern route. What a find! If you're already full you have to try the Mac Nut Cream Pie. It is completely unforgettable. My husband had a roast pork entree. He is not easy to please but he's still talking about that pork. I had a wonderful seafood pasta blended with lobster sauce. That sauce alone is worth a trip back to the island. Don't miss this one!

if your on the road to the volcane from kona stop at the Hana Hou the food we had was delicious . Its hard to get real food on the road but this little place has the right stuff. I think they use the local products. Everything tasted fresh and definately home made.We tried a local plate of roast pork. You had a choice of 2 sides with it so we took the mashed potato and asian slaw. The gravy was the best ever,and it was nice to eat a slaw that wasn,t drenched with mayo,it had a very nice oriental dressing . I enjoyed a bowl of homemade soup.Black bean with ham yummy. Still had a little space to try a dessert and went for the coconut cream pie. The chef really can cook up a storm. We loved everything.
