User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI just returned from naalehu.I was there for two weeks and ate at shakas just about every day.the food and staf were unforgetable!!! I felt like part of the family (ohana) the catch of the day was cooked to order. ileked the mahi best. they have a mouthwatering teri chicken swiss sand with KILLER fries!!! the cook Mark is a maui boy that knows his way around a kitchen! The steaks are great,ribs and mac salad. and if you have a sweet tooth rest asured youve come to the right place. So if you find yourself in this sleepy little town I HIGHLY recomend this southern most bar and restaurant. Im sure ill be back!!!

User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsWhen I saw the framed picture of W. Bush, I had to take a picture of it. The bar, besides the fact that it's allegedly the southern most bar & restaurant in the U.S., is really nothing special. But if you donât stop here to eat and refuel, you might end up pushing your vehicle over the mountain 50 miles later.

It IS the southernmost bar and restaurant in the USA, not allegedly. Also, you can NOT refuel your car at the restraint, but you have to go to a gas station in Naalehu.

dear BobL if you had gone a little farther you would have comr to the really southernmost restaurant the Hana Hou and this is the best place to eat in Naalehu that is if you enjoy truly homemade food. Even their bread and hamburger buns are made there. You must have meant Hana Hou when you were talking about great desserts and its Lilikoi lemonaid not ice tea.
