| About: | Many islanders have known this restaurant from its humble beginnings on Kalakaua Avenue. Now in their new digs across the street from the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall, this restaurant still ranks as one of the best Euro cafes on the island. Booked to the teeth for pre- and post-theater meals, the seating is either inside orbetter yetoutside with views of Thomas Square across the street. - Lottie Tagupa |

This is easily one of my three favorite Frech restaurants in Hawaii (right up there with La Mer & Chez Paul!), not only for the phenomenal cuisine, but (more importantly) the RARE combination of amazing cuisine AND a comfortable/un-stuffy atmosphere. You can definitely tell that the chef/owner enjoys creating his own menu, and he does it well...I particularly love those dishes that interplay traditional French flavors with some modern ingredient or technique...making the "old" seem like brand-new again! I also appreciate that their menu changes periodically based on the season and availability of ingredients; you can really tell that everything here is fresh and top-notch. Finally--but most importantly!--if you're a fan of sweetbreads, you must try it at Le Guignol; the "chef's choice" preparation changes all the time, but I've never been disappointed yet!
Le Guignol is definitely one of our favorites delicious french delicacies without a stuffy attitude they are warm and friendly proffessional and amazingly creative try the tasting menu and bring your favorite wine you can't go wrong here......
way overpriced: We were here on an average night and sorely disappointed. The menu has too few items, mostly price fixe and overpriced. My cooking is better than this. I ordered the veal. It was thin, dry, and uninteresting. My friend ordered the scallops, which were mediocre at best. I shall never return.
