| About: | The majestic "Million Dollar" ocean view from The Ka Ikena Restaurant of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific is surpassed only by the gourmet delights found on its menus. The Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Kapi`olani Community College has produced many of Hawaii's top chefs who have become world famous for their ability to blend classical Western cuisines with the unique ingredients and flavors of Asia and the Pacific. Lunch is produced and served by students enrolled in its culinary and pastry arts program, while dinners support work opportunities for both its alumni and apprentices of the American Culinary Federation program. Named in honor of Queen Kapi`olani, the college and its culinary arts program maintains her legacy and her motto, "kulia i ka nu`u" (to strive for the highest) in all that we do. Great food at reasonable prices served in a beautiful atmosphere - that is the Ka Ikena Restaurant of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific! |

KCC- university: Within the shadow of Diamond Head State park is located a lovely and very contemporary educational setting. What firsts gets one's attention is the subtle architecture. The three story buildings are arranged around a quad,in a circular fashion with shaded orange roofs. And the views from inside are amazing particularly of the local outdoor scenery and that of Diamond head.
The library is state of the art with private cubicles for study as well as generous sized conference labs and research computors easily accessible.
The school offers a myriad of courses and the students here reflect the diverse population of the US as well as foreign exchange enrollment.
One other noteworthy place on campus is the cactus garden near the parking lot.It is arranged in spaces along either side of a walk with benches to sit and enjoy the shade beneath a gnarly olive tree with scented foilage.
Its a top notch university with natural beauty surrounding it.Imagine going to a university in Hawaii!
Also a few blocks away is a Mexican restaurant on Montserrat ave,"La Casa" serving good traditional food as well as a beach boutique for those who want the latest in swim wear.Afterall it is O'ahu in Hawaii and near Waikiki!
KCC-Kapiolani Cool College: I really like this college. Because I have learning disabilties as a result of my seizures and/or medications, it really helps knowing that people are understanding. They also offer so many resources for people with disabilites. For me taping my class(es) and more time on tests really help. It's also a very beautiful campus. It's a great college for people studying medical and culinary careers. Because of this, the food that is offered at the college is more than just the average cafeteria food.
