opinion from a HS senior: I am currently a senior at Farrington High School and I am very proud to be a governor because it allows all students a chance to flourish. Among the many student activities offered, there are cultural clubs such as The Spanish Club, Filipino-American club, and Asian Club. There are also academic clubs including the math team, science club, and Health Occupations Students of America club. Besides having the opportunity to pursue their own interests, students have very helpful staff. Each staff member is very willing to help students pursue his or her life goals.
MAROON & WHITE: SINCE THE EARLY 80'S, ALOT HAS CHANGED AFTER I GRADUATED. TODAY THERE ARE SO MUCH CHOICES AND OPPORTUNITIES THAT YOU HAVE. THE ATTENTIVENESS TOWARDS THE STUDENTS ARE OUTSTANDING.THERE IS NOW A FOUNDATION OF POSITIVE MOTIVES. MY HAT GOES OFF TO THE DOE. IN MY TIME, THERE WAS NO ONE TO ENCOURAGE ME TO FURTHER MY EDUCATION FOR THE FUTURE AND PREPARE ME FOR WHAT AWAITS ME. I AM JUST THANKFUL TO SEE THE STUDENTS TODAY RECEIVE THE ATTENTION THAT THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS.FARRINGTON WAS ALWAYS A GREAT LEARNING FACILITY. IT'S ACTUALLY UP TO THE STUDENT AND THE CHOICES THEY CHOOSE. IT BEGINS WITH GREAT LEADERS (TEACHERS) AND THE STUDIES THAT ARE OFFERED.I BELIEVE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART IN SOCIETY TODAY, IS THAT THERE SHOULD BE A FOLLOW-UP PROGRAM. OF COURSE IT SHOULD BE VOLUNTARILY ON THE STUDENTS PART AND NOT SOMETHING THAT IS REQUIRED. FARRINGTON WAS THE LEARNING CENTER FOR MY THREE SIBLINGS AND MYSELF. EDUCATION AT FARRINGTON WENT WAY BACK AS TO THE 60'S UP UNTIL 1980. SO I'M VERY PROUD TO BE ABLE TO WRITE A REVIEW ON WHAT MY THOUGHTS ARE.
Avalon inConcert: I heard that Avalon would be in town last winter from a staff at school who also goes to the same church. And it was really nice finally listening to them live. However, the audio tape playing was a little bit too loud for me, but it was just great listening to their a capella, and I also liked their new rearrangement of traditional Hymn-I am thinking of getting that CD...but I guess they were tired since they had to sing so much ever since they got to Hawaii, wish they could sing a few more songs before it ended.
