| About: | Although dim sum is usually reserved for Sundays, if you have a craving for dim sum, there is always Mei Sum in Chinatown. It is clean, well lit and the servers are quiet and efficient. If you come for dinner, the dim sum is made to order instead of being served on roaming carts. The menu has pictures and prices so all you need to do is point and order. Pork buns (manapua in Hawaii), steamed buns with pork in the middle, mochi rice with duck, sticky rice with pieces of duck steamed in a lotus leaf, are a few of the offerings. sept 18.09, I have been there 2 times durning my holiday to Waikiki,
this place does serve good chinese dim sum and jook at a good price.
If you are not looking for a 4 stars restaurant, this is your place. I will
be back if I have a chance.
You know its a good place when they have a line of locals waiting to get in on the weekends. Very affordable and more importantly, very good. Taste and presentation of the food are similar to those more expensive "prettier" establishments. There is no ambiance and though it's clean and comfortable, the interior is dated and plain. However, it doesn't take away from the food! Service is good too they're are quick and attentive. Both dim sum and menu items are excellent. Try to shrimp dumplings, fried egglant and house special fried rice. Ono!!!
This place is great. Authentic and tastey Dim Sum.
The process can be confusing to a newbie, but don't be afraid to ask what something is.
