Sold damaged car as new: Our Honda Element had a chip in the windshield, stones in the AC grill, and 182 miles on the odometer. When we received our registration in the mail we discovered they had placed the car in a personal name even though it was CLEARLY explained to them that it belonged to our small business corporation. It took 4 months of involvement from numerous agencies to have this corrected. We also discovered on a credit report the car loan through Honda Financing had been placed in our personal name and not the corporation. We were erroneously told that a personal social security number was required even though we disputed this.
The dealer was rude and unresponsive, despite our contacting the Better Business Bureau. (BBB is funded by the member businesses.) Honda North America was forced to get involved and made a partial remedy, where Tonkin did nothing. The sales rep asked us to give him a good review talking about high Japanese expectations. Costco had to refund us an overcharge from the dealership for a rebate Gresham Honda did not include.
