As a local on Mt Hood and many, many trips to the Rendezvous for family events, I do not recommend this restaurant to dine on the mountain. Unless you've got a pocketbook the size of Rushmore, more patience than a mother with fifteen kids, and taste buds that don't mind eating a meal with lofty portions of the inexpensive pieces of the recipe like pasta, instead of the fish, steak, or crab, this is not the best place to dine on the mountain for genuine culinary explorers.
The only thing I would order now (if I had to dine) is dessert, but avoid the cakes, they are almost always stale even though they are refrigerated...ask how recently the desert was made if you want something fresh. Most of the others are delicious, however
I recommend "El Burro Loco" right across the way for the main course, better ambiance, better service, and better food for prices that can't be beat, then travel to the Rendezvous for desert.
Take my word or not, with my experience with the Rendezvous has left me disappointed, broke, and stuffed full of slippery pasta instead of the steak or chicken as so excitingly described in the boisterous menu.
Rendezvous Grill: Great food and expecially deserts. Don't miss the coconut cream pie!
The best on Mt Hood!: All of the quality of the Northwest without the city attitude!! Fun and delicious...save (or make) room for Kathryn's desserts and ask Tom for the best wine to go with your dinner!!
