We were interested in a good mexican restaurant in Woodburn and the reviews on here were so good we decided to give it a try. It was wonderful! Its a very unassuming place, just tables and booths and lots of locals enjoying true mexican food, not the americanized stuff you get in the big name restaurants. My husband had flautas and I had fajitas with handmade tortillas....truly amazing food and very reasonably priced. It was clean and well maintained. We were thrilled with the experience and will certainly stop again next time we pass through Woodburn.
This is THE place to eat authentic Mexican food in Woodburn. The atmosphere is friendly, the service good, and the food exceptional. Some folks swear by the chavindecas, others the chimichangas. My personal favorite is the fajita burrito. Prices are very reasonable, and you can expect to find a couple of "aguas" (Mexican drinks) like horchata etc. available on any given day. Birria is available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Luis's is an exceptional treat!
Their tortillas are made fresh to order, the rice has FLAVOR! Beans have a pleasing hint of jalapeno and the Asada is sublime. Their chicken seasonings are superb and it even reheats well later. Also the Horchata is fresh made and wonderful along with one of more fresh fruit beverages at the counter.
Pricing is very reasonable and the portions are good. Its a basic (not fancy) environment and a melting pot of cultures in the restaurant's patrons.
However if you are looking for chips and salsa this isn't your type of Mexican food.
