| About: | This vintage video game and pinball arcade is a trip though time - you will find a black lit wonderland of 80s video games that still cost a single quarter. DJs or bands entertain on most nights, with a small cover charge on band nights. Minors are allowed during the day, but a recently added bar is opened up at 7pm every night to serve beer. Climb the ornate staircase to the largest collection of pinball machines in the area. You can even take the fun home with real, working home consoles and cartridges. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsCool bar with a wonderful vibe, let myself relax on the weekends. Met a super older man Edwin Hamilton who was the worse for wear but still a willing host. Married men in Gay clubs are so cliche...but all the same in the dark ; )

Truly a hidden gem in downtown Portland. If your a fan of classic arcades, pinball, or like me and collect old gaming systems then you have to check this place out. A throwback to the Golden Age of Video Games, this place is sure to bring out the kid in you. Great staff, great music, great beer and of course great games make this the absolute best place for old school gamers in the NW.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis place is AWESOME! We went in on a Saturday night and had the time of our lives. Maybe you have to be of a certain age to really enjoy Ground Kontrol.
That's the only thing I can think of as to why there wasn't a larger crowd.
It's like a bar/nightclub and arcade in one. Imagine playing Frogger while drinking your favorite beer and listening to old skool hiphop (that's what was playing that night.)
