Voodoo Doughnut

Although the donuts were pricier than I was used to, they were really delicious and pretty creative. There's always a line outside the store of people waiting to get in, and I find that ridiculous, but that's just me...

I've never been in the store, but I had my first Voodoo doughnut from the pink van at the Belmont Street fair last month, and it was heavenly! I read some other less than positive reviews here, but I can tell you that the doughnut I tasted was the freshest, yummiest doughnut I've ever had! WAY better than grocery store doughnuts. It left me wanting more, and I didn't even think I liked doughnuts all that much.

So...we drove two hours to check the "Voodoo donut" experience off of our list.

Yes, the location was somewhat scary, but I was ready to try the donut that FOOD NETWORK told us to.

Well, the bacon maple bar was okay, and pretty original.

But we didn't know what else to try, so we asked for a variety dozen.

We were handed a box of hockey pucks. The dryest donuts we have ever eaten. No way food network tasted the donuts we were given.

I thought I could trust the man at the counter when I said, "We've never been here before. Could you put together a dozen for us?"

Way to blow a first impression. No reason to ever go back there. I would rather eat a fruitcake...
