User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI love this restaurant. I will not eat at any other "chinese" restaurant. When traveling in San Francisco, in China town, their restaurant could not beat my Mandarin Cove. The owner and servers are friendly - the atmosphere is great and their food...oh....I am getting hungry just thinking about their fried rice.
They are super busy during the weekday lunch rush, but weekends are nice and calm.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsRude and Unfriendly: You know I can choose to eat out any place I want. I walked into this restaurant and the maître d turned me off so much that I turned around and walked out. When I came in I asked: "I'd like some take out please," and with a scowl she meanly pointed and barked: "over there" indicating a waiting area. I said: "Over there PLEASE" and waited. She said nothing.
You know honey, there's not much to being a maître d. Smiling and friendliness are part of it. Prentending you're God's little gift, and acting better than your customers is a sure way to put the place out of business. I'll try emailing this to your boss, but undoubtedly your knee pads will save your job.
I walked out by the way. I vote with my feet. No way am I giving my hard earned money up for that. Never again and I will be steering all friends away from the place also.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsLunch specials to go... so go!: This place has the best lunch special around... the only problem is that you have to get it to go. Great for downtown employees, not so great for downtown daytrippers. Cheap, delicious, and plentiful. Update: I had dinner here again recently and everything was fabulous - service, food, atmosphere. Love it. Go!

It was so refreshing to see someone who points out others flaws. It must be easy when all your time is spent expecting people to serve you. From your own description you say " I can choose to eat out any place I want..." so try not to be so judgmental of a place you just walked in and walked out of. Bring your knee pads next time and maybe they'll let you in. My guess is they saw right off you were a prick-tastic duche, and not worth their time.
