My entire family has been going to the Green Onion for years. When they were in a different location, they were our favorite restaraunt. We're so glad they've opened back up and we can eat our favorite foods again.
I highly recommend the kabob kobedeh (seasoned ground beef/lamb on a bed of rice and baked tomatoes), fesenjune (chicken in a pomegranate/walnut sauce) and ghormeh sabzi (Persian stew). I may have my spelling off on these, but they are wonderful dishes!
Whenever I want to have a real treat, I ask to go to the Green Onion. The owner is always friendly and remembers her customers. Prices not bad, especially considering you get ALOT on your plate!
My Portland Favorite: It is always a treat to visit Soosan and her staff at the Green Onion. I went years ago to a different location and recently "found" it again. Same delicious food, same lovely atmosphere due to the owner who is a most gracious hostess. She always greets us as if we are family, makes sure we order just the perfect meal and even read our tea! The food seems very well prepared with exotic ingredients like pomegranate, rose and other spices new to the taste buds. We left with a delightful experience, warm good bye's and a invitation to return. Be sure and try the homemade ice cream for desert.... Well worth the effort to find it in spite of the road work and vacinity to PSU.
great wonderful food...: i love the food there. the Chicken Cabob is the best. its like a Salad in a peta bread. mmm good.
