    Fabulous independent theater: While it doesn't have the beer-and-pizza-draw of the slightly cheaper McMenamin's and Laurelhurst theater pubs, this Byzantine/rococo-faced historic theater maintains its integrity by offerring otherwise unseen films to all ages (unlike the 21+ theater pubs) and hosting community events of all kinds, from Godzilla film fests to activist group meetings.
