I went there a couple of years ago with a friend. I remember it being pretty dark, and had a romantic ambiance, which was fine, except it might have looked kinda awkward with two guys (slightly under dressed by the way) sitting across the table from one another. Aside from taking like an hour to find the place, I had no other problems.
The food was really good, and cheap to moderately priced as far as steak restaurants go.
Bad nasty food. Distasteful service. Would not listen or talk order mix up after healthy tip.
Great food and live music !: I heard from a friend that they had live music on Wednesday's and weekends so I dropped in last night (July 13) before I hit my regular haunts on Hawthorne. This place has great food, mixed age groups of customers, and good sized drinks to boot. The entertainment for the night was a great piano player and a sexy voiced singer named Barbara Lusch.
While I only planned on dropping in for a quick one to check it out, I ended up eating a fine steak (salad was also better and bigger than I get at most steak houses downtown)with a few more drinks and staying till the singing and dancing unfortunately came to an end about 11pm or so. Lusch's voice was so smooth and with her good looks and friendly personality, I have become a new fan.( I even bought her CD)
I am so glad that I picked this night to go because I have a new appreciation for a supper club that brings in fantastic entertainers such as Barbara for their customers enjoyment - and did I say no cover charge at all !!! I will be back with friends next time Clyde. Tip for Clyde --- start marketing that special salad dressing man! Could be my new haunt...
