| About: | Attractive ice cream desserts and rich coffee are served while live classical music is performed in what was once the living room of an old, reportedly haunted Portland residence. This eclectic haunt is a spooky alternative to visiting a bar, club or movie. Sit at one of the tables or lounge on a couch. If the love of classical music inspires you, visit this dimly lit environment to appreciate the sounds of string instruments. Because it is easy to miss, find this coffeehouse by the address, not the signage. Cash only. |

Talk about Atmosphere!: Great old house, fantastic Chocolate Raspberry Fools and Cafe Borgia (they use their own home-made fresh orange zest flavoring for the coffees), and the occasionally eccentric and opinionated waitstaff might strike up a chat if it's not too busy (some may even sketch diagrams of the desserts -- or their own cats -- on the back of the menu for you). Occasionally the service is a little scatterbrained, but the place is so cozy and there's so much to enjoy (like live classical music most nights and the current 26-piece alphabetical art exhibit), that a little wait is far more pleasure than trial, and the results are worth waiting for. If berries + chocolate+ cream was an acceptable food group, I'd be there *every* night instead of every other...
WHAT AN AMAZING ATMOSPHERE: I really love going to the Rimsky-Korsakoffee House. I travel more than 100 miles to get there. Besides the way cool atmoshere and spinning tables, the drinks and desserts are beyond compare. Definately a delight to my senses!
