They were rude to me over the phone. I only even called them because it is warranty work. When I need anything else done I go to Integrity Auto. Duke is great, and they always do a good job. Plus they are not rude to me on the phone. ( I really hate that. )
I no longer do business with this dealer because of experience with them over the years:
1. Suburban Transaction: (Sales) I test drove a Suburban at a used car lot they operated and decided to buy it for $8000. Less than a year later I was thinking about trading it in for an Audi they had. The salesman told me it was worth $2500 which is utter B.S. A fair trade-in value would have been in the $5000 range. During the purchase they tried to screw me over regarding the stereo. They called my wife two days after I took delivery and tried to get her to bring it in so they could take the stereo out of it. They had sold the truck previously and the customer had installed his own stereo in it. They then re-possessed it because they wouldn't honor the financing. Apparently to them, "As-Is" doesn't mean the same thing when the tables are turned.
2. Celica Hot Start Problem: (Service) A friend of mine brought a Celica to me that had a hot start problem. He had spent $1000 with the service department on this problem (I saw the receipts). They never diagnosed the problem. Instead, they just started replacing stuff that MIGHT cause the problem. I diagnosed the problem in less than half an hour and had it fixed for under $100.
3. Celica GT-S w/ Salvage Title: (Sales) I had a Celica with a salvage title due to an engine fire. It had been repaired with genuine Toyota parts and was a beautiful car. I didn't realize at that time that dealers won't buy cars with a branded title and wanted to find out how much they would give for trade-in. They took it to obtain a value and when they came back the guy asked me "Did someone die in this car?" That was a really rude comment because there was nothing wrong with the car. "We aren't interested because it has a salvage title" would have been an appropriate comment about the car.
4. MR2 Purchase: (Sales) This purchase was the only transaction I have had that was in any way positive. The car was a loss leader so the price was right and I financed through my credit union so they didn't have an opportunity to screw me over.
This is exactly how a buying experience should be. It was the least stressful experience we have ever had for buying a vehicle. Ken Scott our sales guy helped with showing the trucks we were interested in. He was quick and helpful without any pressure. Josh the sales manager took even more interest in our needs. He was warm, friendly and very patient in answering all of our questions. Connie Mah was just incredible. She stayed late to make sure we got the deal done right while being the warmest person anyone would need to wrap the sale up. Broadway Toyota went far beyond meeting all of our expectations!
