Both the W. Burnside and Sandy Blvd. stores claim to take pride in their "surly service" but these places are owned, run, and employed by straight-out record/music geeks. They're super patient if you want to listen to a bunch of CDs (3? 4? at a time, but no limit otherwise) and if you get them talking, are always super nice and have turned me on to a lot of great music (Nebula, for example.)

Since they buy/sell mostly used vinyl & CDs, they have great prices but a spotty/diverse selection (which I do not mean in a bad way) - aside from the latest new releases which they always carry plenty of. It's still fun to dig through the vinyl bins for rare and/or oddball LPs and none over $5. I've been going to both stores since they each first opened, and actually had to cut back years ago because I was spending way too much $$$ because if you take your time, there's tons of great stuff to be discovered. Check it out - it's like an adventure in finding new music. And any abuse from the staff is just their way of showing The Love.
