McGrath's Fish House

Had dinner with two friends at McGrath's. The mozzarella sticks were perfect, the seafood was tasty, and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a place with a nice atmosphere and resonable prices.

Specials not so special!: I tried this place with my husband and I ordered the special for the day which was Pacific Ono while my husband ordered a regular item on the menu which was Salmon cooked in Elder plank. His fish was fine, good flavor and the side dish was also good. But my fish, ono, was way overcooked making it chewy and also, it was so bland and all you can taste is a little bit of the charred taste. And for a special, the fish was hardly fresh, you can certainly get the "fishy" taste when ono is supposed to have a delicate mild flavor. So, in my opinion, do not order the special since the cook may not know how to do it right. We are not planning to come back but just in case we do, we will stick to the regular menu.

Okay!: The food here does vary a lot. Sometimes the service is poor, sometimes superior. My main concern is how they always just barely pass health department inspections with scores of 70 - the minimum to stay open.
