We stopped at Otis Cafe during our vacation in Lincoln City because I had read some good things about the food. It is VERY SMALL, I think about 8 tables and a short counter. They also have a few picnic tables on the side. As soon as we got there we were confronted, yes, confronted by an employee telling us that there were no available tables and that they would no longer be serving food at the outside tables that day (at the late hour of 1 pm) and we would have to leave because there is no place to wait inside. I could stand outside if I wanted. I was astonished by her rudeness! So, I can't comment on the food, because obvoiusly we left, but if you're looking for a helping of attitude, this is your place!
Otis Cafe...worth the wait!: Experienced my first meal at the Otis Cafe today! Have heard raves for years, but never found the time to stop there. I had the Ham and Cheese Omlette with a healthy side of hash browns and toast. The Otis is renowned for it's fresh bread...especially the molases (brown) bread. I also sampled the German Potatoes. Next time that's on my order. Also at the table was the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, made with fresh thick bread slices that one could barely get their mouth around. Finally, there was a buttermilk pancake the size of a plate. Other than the wait to get in, I've got nothing bad to say. Will definitely stop by again and sample more goodies...and leave room for pie!!!
Old time rustic country cafe: Breakfasts are great with tons of delicious food! Lunch and dinner are mediocre, at best. Plan on waiting because this restaurant is VERY popular, attracts people from all over and is normally very busy. A quaint little roadside cafe with only five tables plus 5 counter spots. During the summer, additonal tables are set up outside. Reasonably priced, especially for breakfast. Homemade breads are wonderful. Homemade cinnamon rolls are not the greatest. Certainly worth trying out. Breakfast is recommended.

I think this is a great little restaurant! It is very small though, and there is no room for people to wait inside. However, those willing to wait will be rewarded with wonderful old-fashioned comfort food, from the home-baked biscuits to the marionberry pie. Otis baked goods are special. The atmosphere is homey and cute, the service friendly and pleasant, but the real draw is the bread, pie, biscuits, cookies, and so on. Try a loaf of pumpkin bread if you don't believe me!
