Sailor Jack Oceanfront Motel

We have been staying at Sailor Jack Motel for almost 30 years. Usually when we checked out we would make reservations for the next time and requested a early check-in-time (usually between noon and 2P.M.) Sometimes when we arrived our room would not be ready and we were told when we could return, usually within an hour or so.

Last Saturday when we arrived around 12:15 we were told our room was not ready and they would no longer be allowing check-in before 3 P.M. The new manager Kathy, was extremely rude and very unaccommodating. I'm sure our room was ready before 3 P.M., or it should have been since we made the reservations a month ago asking for early check-in.

The motel is 45 years old and becoming very run down but the view is great, if the window is clean.

We have seen four different managers in the past year and they seem to be getting worse with each one.

We have enjoyed our stays mostly because of the view but without the view we would never stay there. The tub drains slowly, refrigerator freezes everything carpets and furniture are old. The parking is bad and the doors are old and not very secure. We always brought our door security bar to use at night.

I'm sure there are motels in Lincoln City that allow early check-in when available and managers that want our business.

What a find! We stumbled across this motel all because of a coupon we found in a booklet while waiting for our dinner. Took it home to look at the reviews. Amazing. Saw their website and knew we had to try it.

This is the best thing we have done all summer. We had an amazing room. Great view! We brought some of our own dvd's and watched movies! The room was very clean and did not smell at all of anything. It did smell very pretty when we first came in. I did my Lysol Wipe test and I have to say no other motel will be able to compare to it. Passed with flying colors and I highly recommend this place. The house keeping ladies were so very sweet and kind. Not one day did we go without anything. Felt very attended to and we have plenty of fresh clean towels that are soft. We got our room vacuumed every day! They are a good example of what housekeeping should be. We did leave the sweet lady a nice tip for all of her hard work and attention to details.

Very helpful upon check in and check out. We stayed an extra night just because everything was so awesome. We plan on coming back once more before the winter comes along!

The bed, tables and chairs are all in great condition and do not look old or heavily used. I love the wood accents in the room we had, it felt like we were in a warm cozy log cabin. By the way room 310 has the heat controler right over the bed so you don't have to get out of bed to turn the heat on and off. Best room we ever stayed in.

They have a cute patio on the second floor! We never took a shuttle bus to the Casino before. It was so much FUN!!! Glad we gave the casino a second try on this trip we had a great experience all around! Nice driver.

If I am not mistaken the managers are new and they have been there for a month. Very kind people who really care about the motel and making things right.

There are rules to be followed including a quiet time between 10pm and 8am. They are very pro-active and they will enforce their rules. I am so impressed with them all around. They took great care of us. The other customers were very nice too. It could not of went any better.

There is so many postive things about this motel and our personal experience was off the charts. I will gladly recommend this motel to anyone and we are telling everyone we can about it. Hope you give it a try.

The rooms are cozy, clean and quiet. the view is just wonderful, and the bed and pillows are great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. by the way they allow pets too.
